My wife and I took this tent to Northern France in June 2009 and it didn’t let us down. It’s easy to assemble, sturdy and pitches fly first which is very handy when the weather is wet. It has one main front door with an ok sized porch and a rear door that, when rolled back, allows a lovely warm summer breeze to carry through the tent.
When using a double airbed it’s really a good sized two person tent, rather than a four. If you want full stand up height and a living area then this isn’t the tent for you, however it’s 6kg weight and decent sleeping area is a real plus if touring in a small car.
The downside? Inadequate ventilation allows some condensation to form above, and following a steady prolonged period of rain the rear door area was wet to the touch on the inside.
This is a great little tent for design and price. But Coleman have let themselves down on this one. The webbing pole attachments in each corner only overlap the PE groundsheet by only 6mm (normally 40-50mm). First time putting this tent up in pertect weather conditions two of the stitchings in two corners let go and tore away from the Pe groundsheet. I would says this is a poor quality tent with a big name printed on it. I have been camping for 32 years and owned several Coleman tents over the years, but sadly Coleman have lost a customer on this one.
The sleeping area is good for 3 but a little cosy for 4. The storage area is excellent. We found that the tent did get very hot in warm weather and there was a lot of condensation on the inside of the fly sheet which dripped through the mesh inner when disturbed. We also found a little bit of rain coming in through the vents when they were raised which must be a design flaw. Apart from these relatively minor problems it is a good tent, well made and easy to put up and take down. I am expecting to get many seasons use out of it
