Negatives first: Twisting the tent back into the bag took a couple of goes to master and even as a 15 stone chubbster I found it hard to press down the tent with my body weight to squeeze it into the right shape to go in the bag. It looks like it’s putting a lot of strain on the case and I wonder how long the stitching will last.

However those are the only negatives…

Positives: Superb value, mega mega easy to put up (even in the rain, at midnight, after getting lost for 2 hours on the way to the campsite!). We had the tent up in 10 minutes. It rained all weekend and the tent stayed dry inside. Loads of room inside and the groundsheet was up to the job, even with soaking wet grass. Very comfortable for 2 adults, not sure about 3 though.

Conclusion: This is a superb bit of gear.

Really good space nice and cozy.

It is very easy and fast to put up, not so easy to put away I am a big guy and it took a lot of my strenth to bend the poles back in the bag also needed a friend to help.

    Seems weather proof so far.

Very large don’t buy if you need to pack it in a small hatch back.

Just had my first outing with the Twister 3 and it endured some strong winds and heavy downpours with ease!

You need to make sure you have the poles under control as you are removing them from the bag so that they don’t ping up at you! It just needs a little bit of pressure applied on the poles to bend them towards the middle of the bag which then releases them from the edge of the bag very easily. Putting tent away is pretty simple but again make sure you are flexing the poles so they go back into the bag, I found it easier to just roll it along the floor. Now, unfortunately mine seems to have gone back into the bag in more of an oval than a circle, so I can’t zip the bag up fully, but I’m hoping that will get better with use/practise.

Space wise you’ve got plenty of room for double blow up mattress and space down the side for bits and pieces, and the porch area is about the same size again allowing for cool boxes, wellies etc. Great for one, good for two but you’d have to be very good friends to fit three people in!

Have taken away one star for 2 reasons – 1) the ground sheets are a thin nylon which, whilst it keeps the water out is also very thin and could tear easily. I’ve bought two of the tougher polythene groundsheets to put down over the top in the hope it’ll prolong the life of the tent floor. 2) the carry bag – It could do with being a little tougher on the edges as I can see that the pole ends are going to wear a hole at some stage, I’ll do my best to strengthen it with a bit of duct tape, otherwise I’ll be asking Gelert to replace it!

Overall, I’m really pleased with my purchase and hope we’ll have plenty more adventures together!
